two days hikes

From Seix (500 meters) to the Cabin of Subera (1499) and back to Seix

From Seix we’ll head for the gite of Esbints. The first part is an easy hike at a paved road, a nice warming up. After 1 ½ hours we’ll reach Esbints, where we can take a small break. We could have a cup of coffee and watch the animals of the farm (donkeys, horses, pigs).
After the break we’ll walk via the GR10 to the Col de la Core. This is a steep climb, but certainly worth the effort. After approximately two hours we’ll reach the Col the la Core. Now we’ll walk to the Cabin of Subera. This is a cabin without a ward, which is ‘guarded’ by a Shepard. The track to the cabin is a alternative to the GR10 (GR10d). After two hours we’ll reach the cabin, where we’ll eat and sleep. From here we go further to the cabin Subera where we spend the night.
The next day we’ll leave as soon as we wake up and finish our breakfast. We’ll descend through a wood to the river Estours. We’ll follow this river up to the river ‘Salat’. From here we’ll walk in the direction of Seix. Just passed the local kayak club, we’ll head for Aunac.
At Aunac we’ll walk in the direction of Cos, we’ll have to climb a little. You can choose to walk all the way to the top for a splendid view at the surrounding mountains, among others you’ll be able to see the Mont Rouch. Eventually we’ll reach Seix, tired but satisfied.

We’ll sleep in a cabin without a ward and sanitary.
Day 1: bring your lunch and dinner.
Day 2: bring your breakfast and lunch.

At a electricity cabin we’ll have our first break. pad_fonta We can even cool our feet in the river. This was a nice warming up. Now we start to climb through a wood. We’ll end up in the valley of the Estours, where we’ll find a nice spot to have lunch.
After having lunch we’ll continue our track in the wood that shall lead us to the refuge d’Aula. We’ll cook our own meal and sleep in this refuge.

Of course we’ll have our lunch at the top!
After having lunch, we’ll descend via an old track of the GR10 to Sahusset.
First we’ll descend via small tracks and pass a private cabin. Then we’ll go into the woods, on a very bad maintained path, pay attention here!! We’ll have another break in Sahusset and from here we’ll go back to Seix, where we can finish these days at a terrace.
