GR10 week6 hiking and trekking in the Ariege

From Couflens to Plateau la Beille
This sixth GR10 week starts from Seix in the Ariege eand ends at Plateau de Beille. This week you stay in the green Ariege where you hike a lot of beautiful stretches. Highlights are the stretch from Ustou to Aulus, the area near the refuge Bassies and the village Aulus les Bains.

uitzicht bassies Saturday September 18, You arrive in Seix where you spend the night in a gite (half board).
You can fly with Easyjet from London to Toulouse. The price will be around 65 euro for a return.

You can also fly with Ryanair from London to Carcassonne.
Pick-up by the Bergtopper Van in Toulouse and Carcassonne.

Sunday September 19, The Bergtopper Van will bring you to Couflens where you start your hike. This track is about 4h00, 800 meters difference in altitude and you end in the gite in Bidous. On your way to Bidous you can take a swim in the swimming pool in St. Lizier d'Ustou. From here it is only 25 minutes to the gite in Bidous.
Monday September 20, After breakfast you start your "hike of queens". It is a day of 5h and 900 meters difference in altitude. Very, very beautiful. This night you spend the night in the gite in Aulus.
Tuesday September 21, After an early breakfast you start your hike. The track is about 9h50 and there is 1000 meters difference in altitude. After 4 hours you pass the refuge the Bassies where you can have lunch. You spend the night in the gite in Mounicou.
Wednesday September 22, Today you go to the very nice gite in Goulier. The track is abour 8h and 600 meters difference in altitude.
Thursday September 23, Today is a short hike, about 4h40 and 500 meters difference in altitude. After finishing the hike, the Bergtoppers Van will bring you back to the gite in Goulier.

mounciou Friday September 24, Today also a short and wasy hike. The stretch is about 5 hours and 500 meters difference in altitude. At the end of the day the Bergtoppers Van will bring you back from Col du Sasc to Goulier.
Saturday September 25, today is your last hike of week 6. You start at Col du Sasc and end at Plateau de Beille which is know as a finish of the Tour de France. The stretch is about 7 hours and 700 meters difference in altitude. At the end of the day the Bergtoppers Van will bring you to Tarascon where you spend your last night (half board).

Sunday September 26, The Bergtopper Van will bring you to Carcassonne, Toulouse or Seix after breakfast.
Easyjet flies Toulouse to London and Ryanair flies Carcassonne to London.

General
The lunch is not included with the price. The Bergtopper can take care for the lunch, for 7 euro a lunch. We sleep 6 times in a gite. If the Bergtopper takes care for the food, this is possible for 17 euros 50 a day (breakfast and dinner, including consumptions). Most of the time it is also possible to take half board in the gite. This will cost you about 25 euros (breakfast and dinner) and must be mentioned in advance. On the other hand, it is very cozy to prepare dinner together......
If the Bergtopper takes care for all the food (7 x lunch, 6 x breakfast and 6 x dinner), it will cost you and extra 135 euros.
